Play with Stress

I have created an acronym that may help take the pressure out of stress.

Plan less. Plan to have less busyness, less people telling you what to do, less time in places you don’t want to be, less comparing yourself to others.

Leave. Be alone with yourself a few minutes each day. Be alone to meditate. Take mental breaks. Plan getaways to places that relax you on your free time.

Attack. Work on expressing suppressed and repressed feelings in a healthy way. Expressing clearly and directly can be a great relief of tension.

Yield. Stop or at least slow down and listen to what your body and close relationships are telling you. Treat your body as well as you treat your car. Fill it up with what it needs to keep running. Don’t wait for another clinical study to tell you that physical exercise reduces stress. Do your own research.

Question to think about: How can I approach stress differently?

Scripture:Philippians 4:6,7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
