The celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary took place last weekend. It was significant for in our weekend away we reflected on where we have been, where we are, and where we are going (especially in the context of a recent health scare).
Here are some of the things that we have vowed to ourselves and to each other as we talked over the weekend:
Do things with God above doing things for God.
Be in places where close is easy.
Satisfy needs by God’s means.
Feel good and do what that takes.
Lighten up and have more fun.
Stay current.
Keep investing in relationships.
Build on what is working.
Go to new places doing new things.
These are just a few of the thoughts we talked about in our most excellent weekend away. 30 years has been great but to be honest I think the best is still on the way.
Thoughts To Ponder:
When is the last time I sat down to evaluate relationship?
What are my thoughts about the past? Present? Future?
What has been the focus of our relationship?
What new commitments would make our relationship better?
Scripture:
(2 Corinthians 13:5) Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. (Message Bible)
